2. L-PRF
L-PRF is a biomaterial obtained by centrifuging the patient's blood after a normal blood sample. L-PRF consists of a fibrin matrix that forms a membrane and the hyperacute serum contained in it. The membrane and the hyperacute serum contain: - a high concentration of living cells, such as leukocytes, platelets and MSCs (Mesenchymal Stem Cells) - a variable pool of cytokines - a high concentration of growth factors - a high concentration of fibrin, fibronectin , vitronectin and thrombospondin - a variable pool of heat shock proteins HSPs. In recent years L-PRF has been used as a biostimulator of resident MSCs for the treatment of osteoarthritis. L-PRF is applied to the burso-capsular component with surgical micro-access under local anesthesia. The goal of L-PRF therapy is to achieve persistent analgesia and functional recovery of the joint through a repair of the joint tissues (capsule-synovial membrane, bags and cartilage).
