      3. TRANSPLANTATION OF STEM CELLS FROM ADIPOSE TISSUE

Autologous mesenchymal stem cells - that is, belonging to the same patient - are the most used in clinical practice. The purpose is to stimulate the regeneration of connective tissues. In particular, adipose tissue stem cells (ASCs) are among those best studied and among the most used also for their ease of collection. In osteoarthritis therapy, adipose tissue cells (ASCs) are taken from the patient's subcutaneous fat and transplanted to those areas of the joint affected by arthritic degeneration. Stem cells (ASCs) transplanted to the recipient area induce tissue regeneration by modulating the local immunological and inflammatory response. Furthermore, ASCs stimulate the activation of the resident MSCs → local progenitor cells pathway, promoting their proliferation and differentiation in the tissue to be regenerated. The autotransplantation of ASCs is a minimally invasive procedure that is performed in day surgery. (nativecell licensed Registered 25/03/2021 N. 018329961)
